About us

Who we are

Parish Players’ is a relaxed, inclusive and sociable organisation, our members vary in age, background and experience and are always willing to lend a helping hand where needed. We aim to put on two shows a year, normally in January and May, and while we take things seriously enough to ensure we put on a fabulous show, our emphasis is on fun and the enjoyment of being part of the production with everyone – whether principal boy, set builder, prop painter, costume sewer or tea maker – everyone matters!

From September to June, we meet every week on Tuesday evenings from 7.45pm – 10.30pm (although we aim to finish at 10.00pm until near our performance dates) with occasional additional Sunday afternoon rehearsals nearer our performances.

No previous experience is necessary and there is something for everybody, even if you don’t want to perform - we design, build and paint our own sets, make (or source) our own props, design, make or hire all our costumes, design the lighting and sound plots as well as actually ‘treading the boards’.
